Ben combines his national experience with deep Colorado roots, bringing years of Silicon Valley successes at Wilson Sonsini to the Front Range business community. His practice focuses on the sophisticated lifecycles of business, from guiding entrepreneurs through start-up development to navigating complex acquisitions and technology licensing. Ben is the son of firm founder Ken Sparks. Ben joined the firm in 1994. A Colorado Springs native and dedicated community advocate, he balances his practice with a passion for all things outdoor Colorado and supporting local charitable foundations.
Mr. Sparks joined the firm in March of 1994 after working in Silicon Valley at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati for four years. He is admitted to practice in both Colorado and California.
His practice focuses on corporate law, with an emphasis on acquisitions, corporate finance, and technology licensing. Ben spends significant development time with entrepreneurs of start-up companies.
Ben earned his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Harvard University in 1985. He graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law with a J.D. in 1989, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Virginia Journal of International Law. He spent one year as a Rotary Scholar in Nepal between college and law school.
Ben was the head of the Colorado Bar Association Business Law Section for two years.

Ben is a native of Colorado Springs and has climbed about half of Colorado fourteeners. His current avocation is doubles squash. He has a son that is also an attorney and a daughter earning her masters in education. Ben’s father, Ken Sparks, is the founder of our firm, and they practiced together for 14 years. Our firm continues to focus on benefitting our clients through long-term lawyer retention, which was a mantra for Ken Sparks.
